Exotic Miniature Vietnamese Potbelly Pigs as Family Pets

These animals make wonderful pets and are easily trained. They afford you the comfort and companionship of a dog, with far superior intelligence, all in an exotic package, a PIG! They love attention, water, treats and are very playful.

As breeders we have come to form some of our own opinion's regarding these wonderful animals and have included some steps that we recommend that you take, to make yourself and your pig happy and content.

Since we are no longer breeding or selling potbelly pigs, we have decided to maintain this page as a "informational Page" for all you pig lovers .   Before you enter into the realm of pig parent hood...we implore you to listen to your heart, and read the below statement.

" Be true to yourself and your pet.  Know your limits, both physical, emotional and financial.  Research your intended pet, visit farms, breeders, websites, chat rooms...be informed.  Although a pet pig is cute and cuddly at 6 to 12 weeks old, they are much bigger when fully mature  (5yrs old and average 100 lbs. about 14 inches high.)  Do not buy bottle babies.  Do not buy a piglet that is not guaranteed, in writing by the breeder.  Although it might seem fun to breed pigs, it is hard work and better left to experienced professionals with more goals than making a quick buck."

Now, don't take it wrong, we just really want you to think about your comitment to your pet before jumping in,  piglets are easy to get rid of, adult pigs are not.   It is unfortunate, but it has been our experience that most of the unwanted adult potbelly pigs in our area of No. Ca. End up in the freezer or run through the local livestock auction where they sell on average for about $4.00, sometimes $15.00 if really large.  Most people have very good intentions when they first get a pet, but that soon is forgotten and then, they  are stuck with this pig, nobody wants.  Some people set them free on farms, abandon them....I see it every  day.  This is one of the many factors that convinced me to stop breeding.  Although I gave a guarantee in writing and still take my pigs back, I am sure that not all of them have been afforded the luxury of coming home.
